Cheerleading
Tonight I was looking at old pics of my oldest daughter during her cheerleading years. She has cheered since she was 5. Then she went into competitive Cheerleading and did that for years. I remember her working to learn how to do a back handspring and she would get so mad because she couldn’t do it and would come off the floor and be so upset. I remember telling her Don’t Give Up and get out there and try it again. She would get so mad at me and say dad why are you making me go back out there. I would tell her keep up the good work and I promise in time you will get it. Then a few months later she had it down she was so happy. I remember her saying Dad I got it and then you couldn’t stop her from flipping all over the place. Then as she got older and moved up to new levels she had to learn more flips like a layout and a full. The layout came easy for her, but the full was not easy for her. I remember taking her to practice and her working on it. I dropped her off one day for privates and I was going home and before I could get home her mom and I received a call from the gym that there was accident. We turned around and ran up there to only find out that she broke her wrist. This set her back for a while in cheerleading. Then the cast came off and then it was time to get back on the floor. Yep she was scared to death to try it again because of what happen to her while doing the full before. She was scared that it would happen again and I remember her not wanting to do it and would not try it at all. The thing is she had fell many times while doing the full and hurt herself but never gave up until she broke her wrist. The thing is she could get over the falling but the break really set her back. Why is that it’s because the fall and bruises didn’t hurt as bad as the break. This went on for about 2 months then she went out on the floor and started tumbling again. Yes she had a set back by something being broken and she was scared to get back on the floor but she did after some time but it had to be her timing. It took hard work for her to get the full back but she did. However by not giving up it took her to cheer for her College, so what if she would have just gave up after she broke her wrist? It brings me to the verse Galatians 6:9. It talks about keep up the good things for will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. So let’s think about things in life were we have fallen and got bruised up and we didn’t stop until while doing that same thing we had something break. It might set us back for a while but God calls us not to give it. We have to remember it’s not our time its God time so trust him and have faith. We need to keep our eyes on him and follow him and give Christ all your burdens. God will lead us through the time while we are getting over the break and allowing it to heal.
