Foundation
I have been reflecting about when I built houses. The strongest part of the house is the foundation. It holds the house up from the framing to the roof. When you build a house you put a lot of work into. There are things that you will never see like the wires behind the wall to the a/c duct that keep you warm and cold. Once the house is finished we sit back and look at it and think wow what a pretty house. The house is where your family lives and all is going well. Then all of sudden a huge storm comes and rocks the house. You fix what you can see but you can’t see that some of the frame and roof is damaged. We keep moving forward even though there is some serious damage to the house we can’t see. What we should have done is get someone to come in and look at the house. If we did this then maybe we could have caught the damage. Then another storm comes and it is bigger than the storm before that. The cracks and damage we never saw could not hold up for this storm and the whole house come down and all is left is the foundation. The foundation never moved why because it is the strongest part of the house. So what then? Well we start from the foundation and start to rebuild the house; yes we are sad of all the things we lost. However we know we have to rebuild the house, but this time we are going to do some extra things to the house to help protect from the next storm that comes through because we know storms will come. The house might not look the same as the old house but we know it will be stronger then the last house we built. This is like life we have storms that come through and damages things. We don’t fix them and then when the next storm comes through because of the damages we didn’t fix it tears things down. When this happens we have to look forward and learn from the things in the past. We can’t look back and think of the house we had, but we have to rebuild the house and make it stronger again things will look different, however we need to remember we need to let God be the builder and architect. This comes from Hebrews 11:10. There are many verses that talks about building on God and not of this world. There are view things we should remember. That is when storms do come because they will take a moment and allow someone to check in and make sure you fix all the damages so when the next storm comes you will be stronger. This way the house will not be so weak that it comes all the way down. We need to make sure we are building on the rock of Christ and not sand of the world. This comes from Mathew 7:25.
